GDM Error

Hi,

I received the below mentioned error message on one of my Fedora Desktop.

The GDM user 'gdm' does not exist. Please correct GDM configuration & restart GDM.

As I recollected I had removed a user called by the same name 'gdm' once I added the user back I was able to view the login screen on X windows hence I thought of posting the same here.

Don't remove any user with a userid below 500. They are 'system users', used by certain programs that don't run as a specific user, but shouldn't run as root. 'Actual' users normally have userids starting from 1000, sometimes 500.
