Question Firefox mouse pointers

Background:

1. I have Firefox 2.
2. I have a pretty little set of purple mouse-pointers for my KDE 3.5 desktop.
3. When I put the mouse cursor inside the Firefox application window my pretty little cursors change to black default Firefox ones.

Questions:
i) Does anyone know how to get Firefox to use the system-wide cursor theme?
ii) Should I be spending less time making my desktop pretty and get back to work?

Thanks

I think this is because Firefox is a gtk-based program and doesn't automatically listen to the qt-based settings.

I'm not 100% sure this will help you, but there's a package called gtk-qt-engine (at least, that's the Debian package name) that lets gtk use the qt widgets. I think it will do what you want.

Update: here's a page about unifying themes in Gentoo:
http://gentoo-wiki.com/HOWTO_Same_lo...and_GTK_1_apps

But it's might also be that the cursor design is set by your Firefox theme, if you've installed any (I don't think the default theme sets custom cursors).

Thumbs up

Thanks very much for your reply.

I'd assumed that it wasn't a GTK thing as Gimp is using the KDE cursors, but I've just opened Dia and sure enough it's got the same cursors as Firefox.

I shall check out the gtk-engines-qt too - cheers for the Gentoo link!
