Firefox 3 gif images not loading automatically

Hello,
The Firefox browser will not load gif images automatically.
I have unchecked the popup blocker and checked the load images automatically in the preferences.
I am running Slackware12.2 and updated Firefox to 3.0.8. The problem still exists.
I am able to view the images manually; they just don't load by themselves.

I have seen this behavior only on some funny html table within table structures that include images in the tables.

Are you seeing this behavior on every page, or specific pages?

Hello,
Thanks for the response.
I looked at the properties for the ad for Splunk on this forum page and it is apparently a gif and it loaded automatically.
So it is selective.

The sites where this has become overly annoying is on real estate sites that post pictures of properties.
I have not experienced this before on these sights with earlier versions of Firefox in FedoraCore5.

If you still believe that it is due to a different embedding scheme, do you know of a fix?
