Debain Lenny modprobe: warning cannot boot

We have a web server that when is booting after:

booting kernel
Loding, Please wait..

It says

modprobe: warning: failed to open the config file /etc/modprobe.d/Linux-sound-base_no0SS: No such file or directory

The machine will then not boot atall. we are running kernel 2.6.26-2-686 and there are no previous kernals installed.

This is on a virtual machine. there is no sound card installed anyway. any ideas?

Cheers in advance.

I have attached a screen shot.
