I'm wondering if it is possible to create a virtual display which spans two monitors on different machines.
Let's say that I have laptop 'foo' and desktop 'bar'.
I can use synergy to share the mouse and keyboard between the two machines. I can also open an X connection so that "foo" will display a desktop for "bar".
Would it be possible to integrate these two such that you could move windows from one monitor to the other, as you could if the LCD display on "foo" was simply a dual monitor for "bar"?
I've been googling around, not finding much, but I'm not even sure what keywords to use to search for something like this: "windows", "monitor", "screen", "display" and "share" are all terms that have multiple meanings.
I tried searching for "Dual Headed". The closest that I came was this, which describes a set up much like synergy, between two X sessions (sharing keyboard and mouse, but the sessions are otherwise separate).
