Hey all - I'm currently using XFCE4.4 Beta and I'm merely curious if there exists any plugins to keep a watch on Frequency Scaling. I have the Temp plugin installed, but I can't seem to find any to do the same for scaling. I know that Gnome has the CPUFreq applet, but again - can't find a counterpart for XFCE. Thanks!

I'm not sure if there is a panel plugin for this but I use adesklets and the 'doityourself' desklet. which lets you make your own desklet from the output of a script that you write. Mine is a status display with:

wifi (ssid,ip address)
battery (AC status, %charge, estimated runtime)
cpu (freq, temp)

you can set the font and color, use images and use a translucent background. if you are interested I can send you my desklet (though some of it may require modification as I wrote it specifically for my ibook.)

It gleans the cpu frequency from:

cpufreq-info

with some grep-ing and sed-ing.

Well, I appreciate the offer, but I found a much simpler solution (for me at least)

I just discovered that there is an "xfapplet" plugin for xfce4, which lets me use gnome applets as plugins. I merely installed this and the cpufreq applet from gnome and added all of that to the panel. Admittedly this probably takes up more HD space, but I know how to use all of these and adesklets and bash scripting are a bit above me at the moment (although I'm sure I could read your scripts, and figure out adesklets...)
