Can't connect to my wireless network

Hello:

I've got a Intel PRO/wireless 2200BG, and I'm using Suse 10.1, with GNOME.

My problem is that although everything seems to be working I can't connect to my wireless network. (I've inserted the ssid, the wep key, and linux regonizes the network adapter.

I think the problem has something to do with turning on the wireless adapter, because the wifi's led is always off on linux.

Any idea?

Thank you very much.

Yeah. I've got an idea. Does SuSE 10.X include the hwinfo utility, as in earlier versions?

If so, run 'hwinfo --netcard' (probably /usr/sbin/hwinfo, if it's not in your path). That should probe the network card. Take note of the card identification, and drivers required ( loaded? yes or no; command to load said module; etc). Then go into whatever control center Gnome has, then Yast modules, Network devices, and complete the network config there.
