Can't copy file larger than 1M from Ubuntu 18.04 to windows shares - Invalid argument

I can't copy any file larger than 1M (don't have issue with smaller files) from any of my Ubuntu 18.04 to any windows shares (on MS server 2018), got "There was an error copying the file into smb://.... Invalid argument"

Working fine with machines running 16.04 or mount from command line (mount -t cifs....)

Really appreciate any pointers on how to fix this.

Thanks,

I can't say for sure whether it has any bearing on your issue, but there is a bug report that seems related: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+s...fs/+bug/393012

Thanks Frankbell. That bug did report similar issue; however, it can't be the same since it was reported on Ubuntu 9.04 with Windows XP

I can only test Ubuntu 18.04.03 LTS 64 bit against a Windows 10 system. The file browser uses gvfs-smb which is a virtual file system to connect to the Window CIFS. I could transfer a 10 MB file no problem between the two systems.

From the output of the following command I am running 1.36.1-0ubuntu1
sudo apt-cache show gvfs-backends

It is possible there is a bug that is causing the problem.

I have not dug that deep to see if it related to your problem but at least it is a starting point.
