Want to become linux admin, where to start

Im 23 and I have been using linux for the past 3 1/2 years. I know my way around a linux system. I have sucessfully installed and configured many distro's including gentoo, slackware, scientific, debian, arch, suse, fedora, mandriva, ubuntu, and countless others.

Despite all my linux encounters I still have very limited scripting knowledge, mostly just simple bash. Also I have no real experience with servers or security, although I can setup iptables no problem.

Recently I have been thinking about maybe getting a job as a linux admin, since linux is something I know and love and my current job is nothing but a dead end. I could definitely see myself working with linux on a daily basis. The problem is I have no actual degrees or certifications for computer science or anything like that, so I basically just want to get my foot in the door.

I guess my question is where should I start? What certifications should I be looking into, etc?

Use it. Forget certifications, waste of time at your current stage, although something cheap like LPI wouldn't hurt. Just use it. run your own web server, build your own domains, play about with virtual machines... If you really want some formal structure, use something like the RHCE exam syllabus and cover as much as you think you need to know to pass that - apache, squid, iptables, tcpwrappers, postfix etc... but fundamentally just use it.
