I am studying for RHCSA and as discussed above the new Michael Jang book i.e. the 6th edition covers both RHCSA and RHCE.
The thing is that here in India the cost of the book is too much whereas the 5th edition (which covers RHCE) is quite cheap.
Due to the exorbitant cost of the 6th edition I am inclined towards purchasing the 5th ed. I suppose that won't in any way hinder in preparing for RHCSA. I suppose I can filter the study material out of the 5th ed by looking at the RHCSA exam objectives. I hope the 5th edition doesn't miss anything which appears in RHCSA exam??
Please help..

I'm sorry, the RHCSA did not exist before RHEL 6. In addition, the RHCSA includes a number of objectives that were not part of the RHCT or RHCE objectives for RHEL 5. Perhaps the biggest change is virtualization, which was not a part of the older objectives.

Since RHCSA is something new, I don't think you should take a chance, you are anyway not going to the classes, so you can spend the rest of the money on that book.
Also try for a second hand book, though I feel you won't get it, but still try searching at least! (Nai Sadak, Delhi)
What is the price in rupees, BTW? Just out of curiosity..
Don't know the exact price yet cos the bookseller I contacted will tell the price to me within 1 or 2 days. But based on my search on the net, it's at least costing Rs 2100/- since it's imported.
I can post the exact price quoted by my bookseller when I get to know it.. I think he'll call tomorrow or the day after..
Rs. 2000, is ofcourse too much, but alas, you don't have a choice. But still,I think you should try Nai Sadak, Delhi for a second hand one, though I feel you won't get it, but still..

I think you are quite right to think that the book cannot be found at Nai Sadak cos the book was released this July only. I feel the same. IMO the book can be bought from Nai Sadak only after something like 4-5 months or even later cos by then people/booksellers will have bought them. But that's very long..
Let's see....I really don't expect my bookseller to get even the brand new one but I'm praying...Gosh! Why do books have to be so costly!?
