Linspire experience
I got a chance to try out Linspire from their free offer. I have not tried the free CNR yet but I will. I have been using Linux since the "Hurrican" edition. I currently have Gentoo on my Laptop (2.6.5 / pure udev / x.org). I dont consider myself a noob (but no where close the an expert)
I liked Linspire (a lot). If one did not what to learn how to, but just do it - this is a good Linux Distro.
My mom has a 1.2ghz computer with old Win ME on it. She has been hit with every virus/worm out their. When I go to visit her next month, Im installing Linspire on her computer. For her CNR is great. For 5 bucks a month it is worth the ease of use for her. I currently subscribe to Transgamers (5 bucks a month) and I dont use winex that much. Ive just always considered it "giving back". 5 bucks for CNR doesnt seem that bad.
That being said its a good system for me to fiddle with. I always keep a second Distro on the Laptop for emergency recovery of my Gentoo system.
Their is only a few Distros out thier that you can use for a long time and never see a CLI, this is one.
A good for Mom Distro.
