I am trying to install tutos (from
tutos.org ) on my debian sarge machine (running postgresql and apache1.3) which requires php4 or php5. I could not get php5 installed (see below) but was able to get php4 installed. I still cannot get php pages to display (when i go to the site, it downloads the php source code file to my pc instead).
I did uncomment the following lines in /etc/apache/httpd.conf:
Code:
# And for PHP 4.x, use:
AddType application/x-httpd-php .php
AddType application/x-httpd-php-source .phps
below is the error i get trying to do:
apt-get install php5
and also
apt-get install libapache-mod-php4
Code:
# apt-get install php5

Some packages could not be installed. This may mean that you have
requested an impossible situation or if you are using the unstable
distribution that some required packages have not yet been created
or been moved out of Incoming.
Since you only requested a single operation it is extremely likely that
the package is simply not installable and a bug report against
that package should be filed.
The following information may help to resolve the situation:
The following packages have unmet dependencies:
php5: Depends: libmm11 but it is not installable
E: Broken packages
I'm not sure if i missed something in a configuration file, if i am not loading a php module or if i mixed up debian stages (stable and testing).
