You know, as much as I say that I am an atheist, it isn't really a complete or particularly useful definition. "Disbelief in or denial of the existence of God or gods.", that may be true about me, but if no-one ever believed in such things, then there would be no such thing as atheism. I'm only atheist because I only believe in things that make sense and that have credible evidence to support them. Many people make an argument of science vs religion, which as usual is kind of a nonsense argument, where there's two sides and you pick one. I'm not like that, I don't pick a side, I make my own, or you could say I'm on the side of logic and sense. For example there are some things in science that are nonsense or incorrectly explained or understood (namely quantum physics), thus I do not believe in this part of it. Same with religion kind of. Many people think that because I'm atheist I'm immoral and a bad person, I've actually had people say this to me. However, you should know that I do not disagree with many of the commandments, because they make sense. I mean, "thou shalt not kill', to me makes sense, and I'll follow it, not because someone called God says so, but because it makes sense. So really, to me anything that makes sense is good and should be followed, anything that doesn't is not good and should be discarded or put on hold.
So does this characterize anyone else here, or is it just science vs religion ?
