Moving portage snapshot

Hi

I did a standard Gentoo install based on the handbook. Then I moved the system to a small disk (< 500MB). This meant I had to delete the portage snapshot on the disk as it is very large. Now I need to emerge some more packages, so I need the snapshot again (doh!).

So what I have done is install the snapshot to another disk, and mounted this new disk to my system (it's temporary only).

Is there any way to point my portage system to use the snapshot on the mounted disk?

Well, just symlink it for example. It should work, I recall doing that in an emergency situation.

thanks for the idea. i actually solved this problem by using mount -o bind dest src
