emerge Problem with kde

I installed xorg and now i wanted to install kdebase-meta. (on gentoo)
I set the USE-Flags than i emerge kdebase-meta and it didn't work.

i want to show you my code, my use-flags etc. but what do you need and where can i get this and how can i simply copy my code for this forum?

I don't use many forums so please excuse my inability (and my English is not even good too)
I hope somebody can help me.

Thanks

That seems right to me.

Did you use emerge -p? if so, just remove the '-p', and let it run (go party or something, it can take a long time).

If not, let me know the command line you used, since it doesn't appear in the output you pasted.

Don't know if you are still trying to get this working (since your original post was ~2 months ago)... But I can add a few suggestions...

Would it not be best to choose between the proprietary or FOSS Nvidia drivers...
Code:
VIDEO_CARD="nouveau nv nvidia"
Mine is just...
Code:
VIDEO_CARDS="nvidia"
What happens when you enter:
Code:
emerge -pv kdebase-meta
(pretend, verbose flags to emerge)

If it's short paste it with [CODE] tags here... Otherwise use Pastebin again...

For reference if you install the gentoolkit package you can do stuff like...
Code:
equery list "*"
which lists all the packages you have installed so far... A very powerful tool - worth checking out!!

Otherwise I think we would need a bit more information about what problem you are/were encountering. For instance I would recommend describing things you had installed more fully... e.g. xorg-server vs xorg, what version of gcc, etc. What hardware do you have in your system (an Nvidia GPU I am hoping?) What build/install environment are you using (chroot from Gentoo minimal installer, another distro, etc.)? Personally I now prefer to chroot into my Gentoo install from another Linux distro. Then I can search the Gentoo/Arch Wiki, in a DE browser, at the same time - to troubleshoot problems!!

Good luck...
Bob

It would be easier if you switch profile to kde and try to re-emerge kdebase again.
# eselect profile list
# eselect profile set <number>
