yea I know everyone probably does this. But my family brings the pc over at dinner time so I order a pizza hoping they will at least chip in on the pizza for my time so I end up fixing their PC and buying them pizza for dinner while I fix their PC (I got one slice and they ate the rest and I paid for it all)

Try it.
Ok, I'll attempt to give a semi-reasonable answer.
My primary hobby, noncomputer related, is recumbent bicycling. It's actually more than just a hobby as it's a combination of hobby, physical therapy to recover from a nasty car wreck that crippled me, and my primary means of transportation.
I ride a Sun Bicycles EZ-1 recumbent everywhere I go. Once I was allowed to start trying to walk again after 6 months of being laid up I started riding a little at a time. At first it was only about a block but a couple of weeks ago I rode 50 miles so I'm making progress. Best of all, thanks to riding, I am walking (and working again) now instead of sometime next year as the all-knowing doctors predicted.
