yes and i hate people who try to say mine is better than yours. my roomate just built himself a new computer.. Athlon 1800, 512 megs of RAM, new GeForce 64 MB video card.. etc etc... trying to say his shit is better than mine, gonna kick my ass in UT.
So I loaded up my little 400mhz Celeron 128 megs of RAM..8 meg video card.. installed UT and kicked his ass every game we play so far.. with my comp running almost just as smooth as his, totally pissing him off.. I haven't lost to him yet.

but yes, i hate flame wars, try to avoid them most of the time... I am sure there are forums out there to brag on what you have and what you don't have.

It is so hard to tell if he is joking or not, and the way he says something is just not a very nice and comes off rather rude. I will also agree that many of his posts seems to show he is ignorant, but I can let that go by because of his age. And like Isa said, that excuse wheres thin after awhile.

I will be the first to admit I can be a real bitch sometimes. But I have tried to be nice to Therion despite many of his comments, and now I am just getting sick of it. I have told him many times to watch what and how he says things, but he never listens. And not just what he says to me but to others. I defend my friends and those that I respect, and it makes me angry when someone disses them.

Anyway, I dont overclock either. Seems to me the performance gains you would get is very little compared to the problems you will encounter. And I also dont like "My computer is bigger and badder than yours" posts, kewp is fun to get in a war with, Tricky is sweet as can be, and Finegan is just awesome with his articulate use of the language. But I should point out that as Tricky and I have discussed previously, he is IN FACT a dork, but certainly not a geek

See Therion, my smilie shows I am playing. That is what you should do so we wont take things quite so "seriously", as you put recently. You may have gave thought to that comment, but how would you have taken it if you were on the receiving end, and you did not know whether that person was playing or not?

heh, you have a point. I think i would respond the same way if i were in your shoes.

About overclocking, take this real-life example you have a Athlon 950Mhz (9.5 x 100). Setting it to 7.0 x 136 will give me 952Mhz. Sure its still overclocking but you will barely get any extra heat. And your memory is now running at its full rate (PC2100) rather than an "underclocked" speed (PC1600)which you end up with money wasted and bandwidth unused.

my pc is overclocked too, and not unlocked so i run my front side bus real high, and for that my pc sounds kinda like a hairdryer. I can live with the noise though, i can even fall asleep very easy now (being my head is like 2 ft. away from the computer).

Then again, this is not the place for performance talk. I'm here to learn linux becuase that is the area which i'm not good at yet.
