I have had to sit through various games cos my girlfriend is the footie fan. The german chap? on this thread is wrong and the american person is right - my opinion.
Having watched both teams in action, brazil beat england because of the flukey goal that was obviously a cross, not a serious shot on goal and while it appeared that though england had the talent, they performed very "averagely" during the tournament. The brazilians still have some of the most flambouyant players in the world - Ronaldo, Rivaldo, etc etc
If you then compare the performance of the germans who historically have been very successful internationally, their draws have been relatively easy for them (and yes when there has been an advantage for them they have managed to hold on to it). The brazilian team performance has generally been to a good standard.
If you get enough info/footage to compare the two teams, the brazilians should win the final tomorrow 2 or maybe 3 to 1 (if the germans are lucky)
The last tournament, the french only won the final because the brazilians had an easy(ish) ride but then played very poorly in the final, whereas the french played ok throughout the last tournament but then played a mediocre game in the final.
And we should all be able to work out that mediocre beats poor everytime.
This final is an "on form" brazil against a decidedly average germany
I suspect that on form will beat average.
Oh, and they's no point in some of you lot saying "Ha england knocked out by brazil - sour grapes etc etc"
Because I also reckon that apart from some small bits of luck, england played very averagely during their time in Japan/Korea even if they have the ability to play much better.
And look what happened last time we played the germans. If my memory serves me correctly we absolutely stuffed them 5 - 1.
Without a doubt, the team of the tournament have been the South Koreans. They didn,t get to the final but they definitely earned the title of "GIANT KILLERS".
Hence, no national bias here - come on Brazil!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
So now when it's over and I am enjoying my free german brewed beer, I'd say that Cup could've been worst if the ref wasn't that bold Mr.Collina http://uglyfootballers.com/rogues/me..._in_black.html
I don't know what would've happen, probably germans would kill half of brazilian team and they would get away with it.
I am glad Brazil won one more time to prove they are the best.
well, even I was daft enough to make the brazil win prediction. I am just glad that I didn't go down the bookies because judging from what our commentators were saying, the odds would have been rubbish.
Though I have to say, they couldn't have picked a better referee. I reckon he must be rated as just about the best in the world.
Oh and me +my clare refer to him as "skeletor" dunno why!
