GNU Hurd - a microkernel that has been in development for many years that could theoretically replace linux(linux is a macrokernel)
Enlightenment 17 - next release of a graphically oriented window manager in development for years
Debian Sarge - next release of the Debian distro when they get rid of all the bugs, however it seems that they like the number 150
Duke Nukem Forever - infamous game that's been in development for years
Haiku - a opensource replacement for the beos after be died, which has been in development for years
Longhorn - windows next operating system, which also has been in development for years
