Using Live Linux on USB for Vista

I am curious about how (if possible) to run a live linux OS from USB / CD / DVD to play World of Warcraft already installed on my computer.

Help? I have looked around and not been able to find much help.

PS. I have absolutely no experience with linux

I personally feel that live CD would be the way to go, but keep in mind that your CD-Rom drive will be unavailable when running the Knoppix live CD. You can get more information and download Knoppix from severial different mirrors at this link:

It is also a good idea to burn Knoppix to a CD-RW disk, so you will not have to toss away a CD-R disk each time a new version is introduced.

can you please clarify your question. I dont understand why you need an alternate OS to run an installed program. Also booting into a Linux OS may not give you access to your windows files unless you dual boot and it sounds from your post that isnt something you would be familiar with.
