Yep, the politicians get their skirts raised up and jump on chairs every time something controversial comes along. Maybe they'll outlaw peashooters and water pistols next.

Personally I would outlaw any kind of gun.

But anyway, it is a matter of education, even if it is legal having weapons at home, the users are the last resposibles of their behaviour and use,
It does not matter whether or not they are made from plastic. The weapon detectors can be improved.

You have a good shot? Great, any time you keep your weapon away from children and use it for non human targets (if your life is at stake, I understand it would be ok to use a weapon too).

I'm sure 3D printing can be used for many other more useful things than printing plastic guns. It also seems to be giving 3D printing a bad name.

P.S. This is not about outlawing guns, that's a different issue.
