Something for when ethereal is overkill?

I've used ethereal a little in the past and have a couple small networks I want to get some overview stats on. I think ethereal is a bit overkill, I don't need every little detail, just things like the amount of port x traffic from y machine. Years ago I was playing with networking and routers and such and had several tools in windows but have done windows server admin jobs for the last few years so I'm not up on some of the cool tools. Anyone have any suggestions of something like I'm wanting. I posted in general instead of networking since its not necessarily Linux tools I need, the networks I'm going to be working on are usually windows. Last job I had control of the firewall and could log and report off of that, say whose PC has the most data coming in from port 80, or is there is any port 25 traffic going to non company e-mail servers, or look up peer to peer ports and look for the % of traffic on those ports and from who.

Not sure what you mean by overkill, but ntop would probably be a tool better suited for network stats and graphing.
