I need a computer that my customers can use and it will be cheap for me. So I am downloading Damn Small Linux right now so that I can run it on old machines which is also a cost cutting act
You can find cheap computers on ebay. However, read all the information there carefully. Sometimes one critical part doesn't work, or it is missing some part (like memory) or it just doesn't work at all.

You're telling me. I recently bought a hard disk off ebay, and it doesn't work at all. I should have realised there was something strange about a buy it now price of 6 pounds for a 40GB disk.

Well, sometimes it's blatantly obvious except for the stupid shopper.. no pun intended..
Buying a computer off eBay, also watch out for those people who like to charge out the whahooo for shipping older computers. At times you'll find that great deal on that older Celeron or AMD 300-500Mhz and then notice that the shipping is like $25 to $35 dollars, when we know full and well it doesn't cost that much to ship such items. I've shipped 17" monitors that weigh twice as much for about $20.
The only time I ever buy computer parts from eBay is if the seller garuantees they've tested the device, it's new on some items and will fully refund if DOA.
well i got a computer coming and a friend gave me one and it is running on Damn Small Linux is this the best choice for the computer is there any locking down I should do I have behind a firewall to protect the rest of the comps and if some one does mess it up I can power it off and power it on and back to normal
I don't really think there's a reason to have this thread bumped. If you still want responses, you should post more information or questions instead of just bumping it..
