Bernie Madoff was sentenced to 150 years in jail for the massive fraud that he got away with for years. I was brought to both rage and sorrow by reading about one of his female victims who is now destitute.
Bernie Madoff belongs in our Cuban torture facility where the names of all of the people that aided and abetted him over these many years can be extracted from his lips and then harshly prosecuted!!
Lets hope he gets a cell mate(Standford). It would be interesting to see Bernie + Stanford. It was wise of the authorities to confiscate his passport, as well as the judge to deny bail, since he also has a foreign passport as well, and was planning to have it delivered to him, so he would possibly flee justice.
You shouldn't be so angry at him, he was just stupid and unlucky. There are people that make way more than he did, and do so because the system protects them, and they will never get caught. Such is the way of things and it will likely never change. So, don't stress yourself, this is the way things are.
and he said he was sorry...,
I only hope he doesn't get a big cell with tv and facilities..., too many times happens that this kind of people live in jail, but almost like in a hotel.

Um, Madoff didn't get unlucky, he ran a criminal enterprise that fleeced people of their life savings. His "investment firm" never made a trade. Ever. It was a pure Ponzi scheme from the word go.
In my opinion, 150 years was too light a sentence. Daily flogging would have been more appropriate.

No worries this is the same in any Country anywhere.
In Hungary a few months ago 3 politics got caught by police because they were selling flats(block of flats) that belongs to City Council, to own people(mates/relatives/uncle/sister) about 1/4 price than the real market price.
One of the lawyer make a deal with the police and admit every piece of the cases than the lawyer got away and right now he is free.
The problem is that this lawyer still has his paper and still practicing and started the same business again at that district.
And don't forget the properties price's all together reached the 6Million dollars.
It might not a lot of money in the US but definitely a lot in Hungary.
You know the most common yoke in Hungary after you are a good business man is that "Please don't ask me how did I make my first million"
