Setting up a router.

Well, this is the first time I've setup a home router and had a question.

When someone tries to probe my network such as my provider, I want my router to answer for the network and "hide" the internal network. Basically, I want it to look like there is only one computer/ip when someone from the outside looks at my network.

How would I do this? I have an ATT router if that helps but I'm sure any information will be benificial to me.

that's what will happen already. there is only one IP, they won't be able to get through into your intranet unless you make your router do port forwarding etc.... even then it'd look like one machine still at a nominal level.
