Scope in career in Linux

Hi guys,

Need your suggestions.

I have been working in the field of Linux administration for more than 30 months.
Currently I handle client calls/mails and resolve the issues which also includes tech-infra.

I want to understand that how can I get the promising future in this field ? where would I see myself after 5 years or 10 years or in the long run of the future ? Could anyone please suggest what are my options here ?

Basically you have two possible career paths. You can become a supervisor and begin working your way up the management chain. Or you can learn to program and start working your way up the technical pay scale. To be a manager you have to learn how to manage people and money. To work on the technical side you need an in depth knowledge of computer technology and be very good at problem solving.
