rename a distro?

Can I rename a distro to use at my house? Leagally that is.I would not want to redistribute it.
I know I can call my computer betsy if I want and no one cares, but that is not my question.

If such a thing is possible does anyone know where I would find info about doing it?

I have googled such as "rename a distro" and the likes to no avail.

Thanks

Uh-hostname is easy. You can change the login screen, and splash screen-why change the name?

I remember seeing some wallpapers and icons some time ago, they made Linux look just like Vista. I don't think many will see this as an improvement, but it may be enough to throw off the casual computer user. I don't think the more experiences uder would be fooled, though. Terminal windows on Vista??? The Suse splashscreen? Anyway, you'll have to search a bit because I really don't remember where I found those wallpapers/icons.

Thanks ,
The more I think about it the truth is I dont want to use Open Suse but so far its the only one I've tried that the cpu scaling works with my laptop.
So I would like to Change it from Open Suse to anything else if only in name it would make me feel better.

Thanks,
What was Freespire forked from? I may give it a try.

So far I have tried Debian, Open Suse, several Mandys, Fedora, Slackware, and Kubuntu. And so far only Open Suse has had cpuscaling working on my laptop.

2.0 is based off of Ubuntu, though. But I guess that still counts as based on Debian.

Wallpapers, change the splashscreen, change the theme, and it should be well-masked.

What's so bad about openSUSE though?

Maybe you should change it so it calls them stupid, tells them to go away, or flicks them off anytime they start it. Its not like they could use it-unless you give your password out.
