I'm not sure they have updates to Redhat 9 anymore. It's from around the time of Windows 2000. Try using the newer Fedora Core (Redhat community edition) or CentOS (a RedHat Enterprise clone).

Redhat ceased support for Redhat 9 in 2003. There are no longer any updates provided for it. Support was taken over by Fedora Legacy, but this has been discontinued as well.

As Pjvaldez suggested, try a newer version of Linux such as Fedora Core 6 or Centos if you like Redhat. Alternatively, Debian Etch is very good, as is Ubuntu.
