Pronunciation of 'sudo'

How do you pronounce the name of the 'sudo' command? Please explain in full detail.

Just so I am not left out:

Pronouncing it may cause spelling errors. So it is usually typed.

What do you mean by "explain in full detail"?---I doubt that you're even going to get consensus on the pronounciation--much less the rationale.

I say "sue do"--as in "Sue do the dishes"

How about /etc? I've always said "etcetera", but at a recent conference I heard "et see"

Actually, most computer nerds seldom talk---they just read and type.....

Sue, doh!
Actually, I say it or think like: Sue-dough

I also use 'etcetera', although that's not what 'etc' means. It means Editable Text Configuration.

Is that right?

I always thought it was silly to call a directory containing config files "etcetera".

I pronounce it "ess you dash c" ;-P

Serious answer: "sue-dough", like the word pseudo. I know it's probably meant to be be pronounced sue-do, but old habits die hard.

Let's do the whole lot: (Well OK maybe not ALL of them, but several)

lib - short i, to rhyme with bib. Does anyone pronounce it with the long i, as in library?
usr - "you ess are"
var - as the first part of variable
etc - et-cetera
srv - "ess are vee"
fsck - "eff suck"
Gnome - silent G
GNU - "guh-nuw"
GIF - hard G
SQL - "ess-que-ell"
(Windows) Vista - "pisstake"
