Pronunciation of 'sudo'

How do you pronounce the name of the 'sudo' command? Please explain in full detail.

Pronouncing it may cause spelling errors. So it is usually typed.

What do you mean by "explain in full detail"?---I doubt that you're even going to get consensus on the pronounciation--much less the rationale.

I say "sue do"--as in "Sue do the dishes"

How about /etc? I've always said "etcetera", but at a recent conference I heard "et see"

Actually, most computer nerds seldom talk---they just read and type.....

I also use 'etcetera', although that's not what 'etc' means. It means Editable Text Configuration.

sudo means "switch user (su) + do"

I pronounce it as su-doo.
And /etc as egg-exect.

I always thought it was silly to call a directory containing config files "etcetera".

I pronounce it "ess you dash c" ;-P

Serious answer: "sue-dough", like the word pseudo. I know it's probably meant to be be pronounced sue-do, but old habits die hard.

egg-exect???? etc = et-setera.
sudo = sue-dough = soo-doh.
