Process Management

I have to make an investigation on which I show how Linux is more stable than WinXP in relation with process management. However, I'm not sure what I should start with. I would really appreciate if someone could guide me as to which books / webpages I could start researching on, or any suggestions on my work.

It will be a two - year project which I plan can help me gain a better understanding of Linux. Thank you very much for your attention

search google on UNIX history, dig deeper to the memory and process accounting, there are lots of books available that are not newbies guides to how get up and run linux, these books go deeper into kernel mechanics, linux kernel book is also very helpful - it is available from O'Reilly http://www.oreilly.com/catalog/linuxkernel2/

Dunno if it helps or not but it's always interesting to look at the sites that have the most uptime...

I've been desperately trying to find books on processes on Windows XP . .. the book that most resembles what I want is Inside Windows NT, written by Helen Custer .

Please I beg you! Do you know of any forum that can help me find a Windows book? :S
