Yeah, I've got a new TV that works fine, but its so small I can't see it from where you sit across the room. I have to hunch forward to see what's going on. So I went out to our junk building and got a junk TV. I really didn't expect it to work even this far, but hey, take what you can get, right? It's analog/uhf, no digital input on it. My problem is that I can't get a good picture on it. It's usually all snowy, but faintly shows a picture when there's enough contrast in the image. I took apart the plate that has the connections and stuff in it and found that the analog thing was really loose. Naturally, I tightened it up. That helped a little bit, but its still useless. Anybody else have this trouble? Can I maybe get some help? I can't find a brand name or anything on it, though.

How come you didn't purchase a biger TV?

Seriously, not enough information to provide any help. What are you using as a TV input. Without the make / model of the unit it is going to be difficult troubleshooting. There should be some info on the inside of the unit or on the circuit boards somewhere. Once the make / model is located you might find some technical information at your local library. Since it does not appear like you have the techicnal skills once the obvious things have been checked its time to take it to your local repair shop. In this day of throw away electroncs it is usually cheaper to buy new then to repair.

It's always hard to get a good picture on those projection, and crt tvs. We had a 50 something inch backwards projection TV (something like that). We tryied all the video technologies on it (svdioe,composite, componite, etc), and never got a good picture.


Much more recomended to get something w/ a VGA or DVI connector on it.

I got it fixed. The connector was broken on the inside. I didn't get a new one because I'm poor! Literally flat broke. I wanted this one cause it was big enough for me to see (I have some serious nearsightedness) and because it fit on the little swively thing. I've never owned a TV that had input newer than the 3 a/v cords, heh. We're behind the times like that. That and TV's are fricken expensive!

EDIT: I didn't purchase this TV, it was given to me.
