Oh.
I assume all quotes are, more often than not, I mean they came from the dictionary right? lol

If infinity is a real thing, then we only think we make stuff up?

Standardized educations frighten me for if everything had been said and done no imagination needs to be told...

Why do elephants' feet smell like sage and onion?

Because if they tread on you, you're stuffed.

Sounds like an obnoxious show-off. Also, what about social learning. Daddy can't do all that for you, not in 3 months anyhow. I have a feeling that kid wasn't very popular - neither in the 4th nor in the 6th grade.

OTOH I can understand the criticism of an ailing education system.

You know what they say: like "street smarts," "book smarts" is more often an oxymoron. :p

If your "religion" "traditions" or "believes" are opposite to any individual or parties of, they're called opinions. "Just the facts" kids... but hay at lest those opinions are evolving! :p

“Not only is religion thriving, but it is thriving because it helps people to adapt and survive in the world. In his book Darwin's Cathedral, evolutionary biologist David Sloan Wilson argues that religion provides something that secular society doesn't: a vision of transcendent purpose. Consequently, religious people have a zest for life that is, in a sense, unnatural. They exhibit a hopefulness about the future that may exceed what is warranted by how the world is going. And they forge principles of morality and charity that simply make them more cohesive, adaptive, and successful than groups whose members lack this binding and elevating force.”

For twisted reasons, I was educated in a school run by Jesuits, the 'special forces' of the Catholic Church.

Anyhow, one of them was called upon to propose a toast at a huge Reception, and he said this:

We spent in the arms of other men's wives.
Gentlemen, a toast to our Mothers!:)

Nice! I'd have loved to be there & see the reactions!
Did they all have a sense of humour, or only the one who said it?

I don't know. I don't think they differed much from the rest of society.

But to say that in Ireland, of all places to a crowd containing a goodly proportion of priests, and some hierarchy(bishops, maybe a cardinal) showed nerve. His fellow Jesuit's opinion of him would have skyrocketed. They all had a vow of celibacy.

The reaction would have been that by the end of line 2, followed by a pregnant pause, the tension would have been electric, and he would have the undivided attention of the entire room :).
