haha, its quite funny, but iv always hit stupid annoying problems with Windows that would just appear, and id never be able to figure out what was wrong (since their error messages dont tell you anything)

In fairness to XP, after a clean reinstall i did lately it has been running very well indeed. I even ran windows update (dangerous i know) and the system has actually been running far better since then.

I dont have a single problem running Windows or any M$ software as long as it works. Hell, il even pay for it if the quality is there.

For me, iv never had any real problems with Linux, its always a good back up for me. There are some things that are far easier to do in windows, and other things i prefer to do in Linux (like programming). Lately IE just stopped working, it wouldnt load pages, for no reason. So i booted into Linux and suddenly it was working nicely. Next time i booted into XP the problem was gone.

Some people say XP is more stable than 98 but my 98 gaming system ran great thats why i was reluctant to switch to XP but i had to cuz my video card needs XP to work (supposedly). Of course it depends on Processes running, Hardware, the user and all that jazz to keep a stable system running. Maybe I should lower AA from 6X to 4X and not have my video card settings cranked all the way up but it looks so dam good, LOL. I think its funny how MS made the error messages so nice and personable instead of looking like a disaster has occured.

at least with windows if there's a problem often you can switch on and off repeatedly (or just pull out the power lead) until it works again. haven't ever had that work for me with linux!
