Lets be fair here. This is the only thing Bush is responsible for. You can hate the US as a whole but you can't pin all those issues on our current president. They were problems when the Dems where in the White House as well.
Hi, I have a questions for some American folks. What do you think of you electorial system? I mean there usually are only two president candidates, a republican, and a democrat. Is that enough? What if you don't like both? What if you decide they both suck and you want to run for president independantly . You are allowed to (right?), but you don't get no where withought money. So suppose you have some briliant ideas of the country, but you don't get any media attention, you don't get the publisity, you don't get to be the president. Is that fair?
Hang on to your seat Schatoor, the American public's vote doesn't even count when it comes to voting for the president.
Only the Electoral College vote count's.
What's the difference? And what is the Electoral College?
Don't get me wrong folks, i'm not stating the US isn't a democracy. But I think the proces by which it elects it's leaders could be better.

You and me both
The Electoral College, from my understanding, are political appointee's.
Take my home state for example, North Dakota, we have 2 senator's and 1 congressman. That gives us 3 Electoral vote's.
But, as I said, they are political appointee's who follow their party line.
In the last Presidential election, Bush lost by a couple million (public) votes but recieved the majority of the Electoral votes. Since this is the way our Constitution works, the Supreme Court had to uphold it.
By the way, the State that gave him the needed electoral votes was Florida, where George W.'s brother Jeb, is Govenor.
How's that for democracy?
I just know I'm going to get flamed for this post
