New Linux CD in Bangkok

Hi everyone,

Leaving in Thailand, upcountry, I was wondering if Panthip was more quickly up-to-date when we are looking for new Linux versions of Fedora Core 2 or Mandrake 10.
We will have it here in Chiangmai, but in a couple of month, normally ...

Any hints or answer about Bangkok computer shop would be welcomed, and I'll take the first train to go there ;-)

By the way, downloading it ... hum... forget it .. i say "upcountry" :-(

Thanks a lot,

Philippe

Hi Philippe,
I get all my computer stuff at Fortune IT mall, Ratchadapisek. Not sure if it is more up to date that Pantip, but the prices are easily as good and it has a much better atmosphere.

One more thing, I was recently in Koh Samui with a horrendous dial-up connection so I got one of the local internet cafes to download FC1 for me. They charged 100 Baht per CD and saved me a lot of hassle.

Regards,

mark

Hi Chekmark,

Well if you go Fortune City, tell me if you find FC2 for example. No hurry, just if you go there ;-)

Downloading here is slow, as ADSL is really slow, and IPTV cybercafe charge you a lot, as they have a limited download MB / Month.

The only easy way is to get the CD ;-)

By the way, I am sure that you're waiting now to upgrade to FC2 ... no ?

Cheers,

Philippe

Thanks so much ... I am always very surprised about the kindness of Linux people. By the way, I already received the CD (thanks to Chefmark), and I am writing this answer using FC2 ;-)
My mistake was not to write it down on this forum.
Sorry, but THANKS a lot, and good luck for your for your update.
Philippe
