Exclamation metal!?!

hallo,NKSL serbo-hrvatski ehh???? or just Serb. I know a female acquaintance from Belgrade ,quite a complex lady . So metal is big over in the balkans ,Gee Ithought southeastern europe would be spared the annihalating powerchords and screaming of the genre. I have heard of one Yugoslavian Group called LAIBACH ,they did a VIDEO back in the 80,s called "LIFE IS LIFE" & a remake of THE ROLLINGSTONES "sympathy for thedevil" Would you happen to know What ever happened to LAIBACH????

My knowledge of eastern European Music is rather slim, just heard of a few Russian bands AKQUAIRIUM , Boris Grebishnikov, ZOOKIE MOO and a few Polish Performers, Michael Urbaniak, etc.

so you started this musique forum nksl, I,ll just say @41 Iam out of time and place to relate to most LINUX users tastes. Seems to be computer intellect replaces gut emotion in the lifes of "geeks"

It is nice to "talk " to someone of a different culture and not be so narrowminded in American Viewpoints.

thanks ,Chilibowl

chilibowl: Nope 100% Serb, but that doesnt mean i hate others from the Balkan as it is commonly stereotyped. As a matter of fact i have friends from hungary, croatia, macedonia, etc..
LAIBACH you say? Boh, never heard about them, or did but never payed much attention. In Balkans once a band dies they are rarely remebered, and i'm from '86, too young to remember the '80s
Metal is quite big in the balkans, yeah, but a lot of people listen to so-called "turbo-folk" which is in my oppinion the lowest music form performed by people with lowest IQ, its quite embarrasing..
Then theres some old real folk songs, and some of them can be quite relaxing, but if you listen to them too long you fall asleep. Then the bands i listen to are Ritam Nereda, and the old guys, like Riblja Corba and Bajaga, i doubt you ever heard about them, but they have some good music.
Anyways, nice talking to you!

Talking "phear The Penguin"

Yes ,Ishould fear the Penguin, When I first saw the LINUX Box Software Set with the picture of "TUX" on it I said to myself"HMMM how strange, A penguin?!?!?!" leave it to these computer geek kids to comeup with something like this.

In my scattered memory , I remember a PENGUIN called "OPUS" in the long gone but Hilarious, Comic Strip BLOOM COUNTY , one episode (or even more) dealt with computer kids and their "HOT Rod" PC,S and Hacking.

Actualy when I look @TUX (on my REDHAT -Mandrake 6.5 BOX

I see actually a STONED, Overweight Penguin witha Glazed Look in his /her eyes ,not quite unlike some computer geeks who are out of shape and have their eyes glued to the monitor. Could TUX be a self-parody of the Computer Geek Culture???????

Give it a thought , ChiliBowl

If it has nothing to do with the 80's and is a little more intelligent than Britney, I'll listen to it if it's on the radio and I'm in a car travelling at speed.

Bert

PS. Rasputina. Hmmm.

Oh damn that's right, Milo was the dink with the glasses and the insane uncle that was the focus of the whole strip when it started, doh!

Personally I miss the Basselope, or Cutter John and the USS Interpoop.

Okay... I gotta find my copy of "Billy and the Boingers", its been too long.

Cheers,

Finegan
