Angry MSN Steals Ubuntu Logo!

Check this out:

I can't believe they're getting away with this... Can you imagine the legal fire storm that would ensue if a Linux distro was using a knock-off of the MSN Butterfly in their logo?

I hope Canonical doesn't let this go unchallenged. I'll personally pledge $10 toward any legal expenses if they decide to pursue this.

I don't know of the validity of that, but it's well-documented that
M$ will buy a company, or take it to court to crush it financially;
then if they bought it, destroy the product or remove it from the
marketplace. Hey, who's to say how low they'll stoop? Next thing
you know, they'll ship an OS with all 65,000+ ports wide open,
and the super user (admin) as the standard account, with the
browser tied to the OS using ActiveX and Java to exploit the
local system, then charge you in excess of $150 for this piece of
junk.

Think Slackware

A logo of such design on both parts would be hard to trademark or fight. Sure they are similiar in looks but if you broke them down.. the MSN one is clearly showing the little figures they've been using for years. Ubuntu hasn't been around as long and their logo is a circle broken into 3 sections with circles making indentions on each section of the circle.. so very similiar but I wouldn't blame either for stealing the design each chose.

Dead subject and topic and neither should do anything about it, pure coincidence most likely..
