Micrsoft buying macromedia

I just learnt that there are rumers that microsoft want's to acquire macromedia. What impact will this have on browsers like mozilla? Do we need to worry that we won't be able to view half the sites on the net any more?
Here is the link

Let them have it.From what I read the EU is getting ready to get on M$'s case early next year - no judges;no lawsuits - just a comissoner that decides what is going to happen.Maximum fine:10% of yearly gross=3.2 billion US$.

SGV is a better format anyway, I won't miss flash, I have it disabled in my main browser and sites that won't work without it don't get a repeat visit from me.

Aussie, what's this SGV format you mentioned? I've not heard of it?

JaseP, I agree with you. More often than not most flash sites are too focused on kick-ass graphics that it supercedes the content.

"dancing baloney" just paints a picture with words don't it?

I don't think they can make flash, a windows only thing. Besides if they tried people would let them know what they are thinking.
