I'm making some rules to block sex/porno-related pages via the firewall-capabilities in the Linux kernel (iptables)... It's for a club for children - you figure (the parents will do terrible things to me, if they're kids sees porno in the club...), and some of the older ones (10-12 years) search for it - just for fun.
But anyway, I stumbled upon a 'little' thing, as this console out-print shoes:
As you can see, I use wget to get the IPs for the script, and it is not unusual that I get redirected (or the contents comes from another server), but this time it's to Microsoft's homepage!!!
The pornindex-page really does have unwanted content, but it is served by Microsoft's home-page. Or am I wrong?
Any comments are welcome. And this is not a joke (check it for yourself.)
Peace!

Your most likely imagining or something on that site would redirect you to microsoft maybe, but I also feel your thread is really unecessary to bring up on this forum. Also actually linking to porn sites is not allowed. This thread has been reported and will most likely be edited to remove the links in it.

Regards.
I actually did not link to those pages, I just inserted the output from the console, and your script made them links, I don't know how that happent. - I'm not responsible for that, and I truely am sorry for it.
I did this post, because I fouth it was funny and hurrible, that Microsoft is somehow connected to porn sites! And I think people should know.

Yes the forum does automatically makes scripts when you either start out the address with http or www but really, do you think Microsoft is stupid enough to link to porn pages? Its most likely that site as if you look at your output, they have totally different IP's..
No, but I do think Microsoft is greedy enough to do so!
Theres money in it... And Microsoft will do anything for money.
And how would you else explain it?
I am really really really sorry for all this...
If you like, you have my permission to remove this thread.
This just has to be some kind of mistake. Maby an bug in wget. I tried the same thing and with me to, wget gets directed to www.microsoft.com .
carstenbjensen, m$ could not possibly be that greedy. IF it were true and it got out, trust me, hell would brake loose.
I got thinking (yes, it happens!), If it really is a bug in wget, why does it not happen with all URLs?
I have checked hundreds (well actually a lot more), and it never happened before.
But anyway, it happened again! This one links to the first one i posted (which made a mess (!) in this forum, see above), and then links to Microsoft!
I will not post the URL, but I can give it to you as a personal message, if you want it (is this all-right, trickykid?).
Actually, it's not Microsoft linking to the porn site, but rather the site with a URL resembling a porn site sending a Location: header that redirects the client to Microsoft's site...probably done by whoever owns that domain as a joke of some sort.
But at any rate, y'all got something against porn? Huh?
Any comments are welcome. And this is not a joke (check it for yourself.)
Peace!

I'm sure this is perfectly normal, no one at Microsoft is shocked, infact, in a book i read taking about the rise of Microsoft and Bill Gates mentions a huge stash of porn on location and readily available to the developers. Supplied compliments of management, along with free drinks and snacks for all the Microsoftie developers putting in long hours.
Originally posted by trickykid Why not? It would be ludicrous to think a Corporation that big would deliberately link to porn pages..
I agree with you Tricky but a British Airway's server was hacked and used to send spam and host a mail order bride site. It is possible that a MS server would be as well I guess.
