Interesting how that term has changed over the years. I keep thinking of a line from Jurassic Park, where the girl was telling her brother she "prefers the term 'hacker.'" When I first heard that line, I kept tellling myself how that term has gone from meaning something good to something bad.
SchadeBoy: there was a story a year or so back about early computer (it was either on discovery or the history channel) ... it says the term went from something good to something bad overnight because of a movie from Hollywood about some crackers that broke into a government computer and were able to launch nuclear missile. .... something along those lines, i never saw the movie myself so i cant say what it was about, all i know is it was about "hackers" (in the seance that the public came to know them from this movie) and nuclear devices
its rather amazing how week the general public is, if CNN (or a movie) told them that drinking gasoline would make them live twice as long, and never look older then 50, most people would chug away

However, I'm curious how the LInux community would take it if Microsoft did, in fact, make such an announcement? [/B]

REALLY have been bored to type that all up.
Personally I'm just SICK and TIRED of hearing about Microsoft. I'm sick of seeing the advertisements on various websites, even where "open source" is discussed. Enough is enough, I'm sick of seeing the word Microsoft.
I don't care, I don't care, I don't CARE about Microsoft.
Microsoft Microsoft Microsoft.. Say it again! Say it loud! Say it until you're sick of saying it and then never say it again!
furfurdemon666: how can you say such mean things about a crappy company that makes shitty and overly bloated software then shoves it down someones throat!!!!

No, not bored. I happen to be a writer, and am pretty good at making things up like that. It's part of being a sci-fi novelist.
