Hi guys, here's my two cents (not adjusted for inflation):

I first encountered linuxquestions at least ten years ago, primarily seeking help with Linux (of all things). Still do so, and admittedly ask more questions than I answer. But, in my manic-depressive work cycle, I find myself coming to linuxquestions for other reasons as well. During that particularly tough zero-inertia planning and design period of any new project, whether it be a new book, a new program or web page, or some home maintenance project. When I'm spinning my wheels and getting nowhere, the 'General' forum provides a sort of relief with its wide variety of topics ranging from the weird to the controversial to the merely interesting. More than other forums hosting controversial roundtable debates, I find the threads here to be just as full of spirited arguing back and forth, including some occasional personal attacks, but characterized by a bit more grace and wit, relatively speaking. I know not the reason for this. At any rate, once my project starts clicking and I become focused upon it, you may not hear from me again for several weeks unless I have a specific Linux question again.
