I am an avid linux user who needs statistics on linux and windows for a final math project. I have several questions I would like users to answer, and I have put the same post on another website. I will be rating the answers to my questions, and I will also be rating how many responses i get to each post. Here are My questions:
1. What is your main OS?
2. Do you dual boot between Windows and Linux?
If yes:
i) Why do you use the other (the one not specified in question 1)?
ii) Do you plan to switch to one OS and dump the other?
iii) Which has the largest partition? or are they equal?
Thank you to anyone who answers this post.

1. Mandrake Linux 10
2. Yes
i) Gaming in XP
ii) If Linux gains support from gaming industry, yes. Otherwise, no.
iii) Equal, 30 GB each + 20 GB vfat for music and other documents that may need to be used on both
systems.
1. XP Pro
2. Yes
i. To learn why the future of linux is getting stronger.
ii. If linux could become more self operating I would dump the other, hands down!
iii. Both are equal at 10G's each, (my exchange server uses the 140G partition)
1. What is your main OS?
Fedora Core 2
2. Do you dual boot between Windows and Linux?
Yes
If yes:
i) Why do you use the other (the one not specified in question 1)?
Visual Basic, Digital Camera, Games, I also use it for cygwin, tomcat, java programming, and anything else I use Fedora for because cygwin makes it that easy.
ii) Do you plan to switch to one OS and dump the other?
No, Windows XP is better. lol Actually I like them both. It would be nice if linux was easier to use though.
iii) Which has the largest partition? or are they equal?
Both use an 80g hd.

1. Linux (Debian Sarge) is my main OS
2. Yes, I dual boot, actually triple boot with FreeBSD too (which I have actually installed for fun)
If yes:
i) I still have windows cause my games run best on windows 98, and sometimes for opening a file which can only be opened in windows
ii) No, cause the windows 98 doesn't cause problems
iii) I have a 2.5 GB windows partition and 3 GB linuxpartition, but I also have a 10 GB ext3 datapartition, which is only available for linux like this
main os now Linux
have mixture of linux only, dual boot and w2k only
have some apps that are win only - some users who will need migrating
would love to move to linux
dual boot machines are primarily linux with 5Gb left for Win
