Hello, for a career I wanted to go into Small business Linux networking. You know, set up, install, maintain, etc. Is there any formal schooling. From what i can tell, the people with these jobs sorta just fell into them. Can anyone find a program that is better than those sill two week ones?
For background, i graduated highschool and should be heading off to college/university but i can't find any that offer linux, at all. I can find Microsoft any day of the week.
So, any links, advice, schools, anything, would be great. Thanks in Advance.
And that is also the best tip I can give you. chech RH web site and delve into their training scheme.
James Cook University in Australia, also offer degree courses in Linux Systems Engineering, but as you give no location in your post, I assume you live across the creek. ie USofA. am I right?
The Linux users best friend is Google, use it.
Hope this can help. shorty943 in Australia.
Merry Christmas and a good new year to you and your family.
Hey, I am in Canada, but willing to move. I know there are Disto based courses for Novell and Red Hat etc. But i was looking for something more general. If worst comes to worst i can take both Novell and Red Hat courses.
At University Of Toronto(UofT) in the ECE programs they use linux comptuers. You'll learn about them and how to code in c/c++ (It used to be java for first year but they changed it this year). After the first 2 years you can choose your courses and specialize in the area of your choice. For more information visit the UofT Engineering website
Tip of advice: A college degree will take you further than any certification. Go to college, get your CS degree, get your IT job and then get certified to keep your skills updated.
