Question Is yodelling American?

I read the wikipage about yodelling and it says that yodelling is also a part of American Country music. That's weird. I don't get it. To me yodelling was something Europian. From Switzerland for example. But then I saw this, which doesn't feel American even close...

So whose culture is it indeed?

Who came first -the Swiss or the Americans? Don't you know the Amis take credit for inventing everything.

Oh so that is what yodeling is...

I Thought Yodeling was when a 'Bro in Bronx or Harlem meets another 'Bro, and the first 'Bro says

"Yo Dawg, wassup...?!"

This is what i thought yodeling was... American, not Swiss....
