Internet Sharing


Hello Friends

I have 5 Systems. All Systems are loaded in Windows 2000 Professional.

IP's are (172.100.100.1 - 172.100.100.5/255.255.0.0)

Modem and Internet connection is configured in Machine 1.(172.100.100.1)

I want to Share Internet Connection without using Proxy software.

&

I don't want share Internet Connection Sharing (Dialup Connection -> Properties -> Sharing -> Sharing Internet Connection)

Whehther any idea to share the Internet Connection.

you don't want a proxy, and you don't want to enable masquarading via ICS... there is no other option without buying extra hardware like an ADSL router.

For any kind of connection sharing you need some form of IP masquerading, end of story. Hardware devices do this automatically but if you want to set it up yourself it's done through ICS on Windows or using iptables on linux.

Curious. Why do you not want to use hardware or ICS/NAS/etc to share the net connection?

obviously there are other masquarading solutions other than standard windows ICS... but they will all do the same thing.
