internal (lan) voip system

Hey there, I need an INTERNAL ONLY (No internet connection is available) VOIP system. I want to allow different users on the network to talk to each other. This must be WINDOWS and Preferably Linux aswell, as we have a hybrid network, but the windows users are the most important (sorry but the software we have to use is windows only).

It does not matter if we have to setup a server to run the system. (Windows or Linux) Hardware isn't really a problem.

I have trawled Google, but can't really find anything, I remember some time ago there was a good system, but can't seem to find it anywhere, it was similar to Skype but ran with an internal server.

I don't want to have to setup a PBX because well there is no need for PSTN access and it is just overkill, and expensive, and also means I have to install alot of wires and telephone points.

For those of you asking why the network is not on the internet that is for security reasons. There is internet access but on a different network. The level of security that is required no amount of firewalls or security software etc will suffice. And no I cannot tell you what is on the network (again security).

Thanks for any help in advance.

Why don't you just use Netmeeting? I think you can just enter an IP address of the machine you want to talk to and connect that way. I believe you could use gnomemeeting as a linux client in the same way.

Net reply is rubbish, I wanted something that could go between the clients also, although the windows were the priority, mm, I will think about it. Cheers.
