The ads are supplied by Google. They search the page for keywords and inserts relevant ads. Since this is a lot of computer/software related stuff on LQ, MS gets in right alongside Red Hat, Novell, and Linux ads.
P.S. I am anti-Microsoft and I think the ads are great! Since no one here is likely to buy there stuff anyway, it's just a waste of their advertising money
AlexV is exactly correct... The ads are supplied by google and have been the topic of some amusing posts, however, it works both way's... I am sure there are plenty of MS forums that show ads that Apache is killing their server market and Linux is gaining loyal windows users every second...

i never thought of it that way. it makes seeing them a whole lot more enjoyable.
