I've been interviewed a couple times in the last few weeks. If anyone is interested, I have posted the links on my blog.

Nice interview for LXer, Jeremy. I'm one of those that would probably have given up on Linux (sometimes, frankly, I feel like giving up anyway...) except for the generous help doled out here at LQ.

Now and then I try to help by answering some simple question especially dealing with something I've wrestled with and won. I figure that even if sometimes my answer is not the right one for the person having a similar problem, at least it might help narrow down the solution, or suggest a path to follow...

I appreciate the way you're tactful and careful in your statements in these interviews. Somewhat flaming rhetoric is OK on LQ forums (within bounds) and it's a chance to let off the frustration-steam a lot of us feel toward Microsoft in particular (and toward the unavoidably chaotic development of Linux). But in a more public forum like interviews it would only gain new enemies. Diplomacy is important! Good job. (Linus Torvalds is allowed a bit of leeway here--everybody expects him to be a little sharp-edged. )

Hmm, I feel a request for a pay rise coming on

Seriously though, the more people who know about us, the better. Well done.

I like the way some mods (though not all) have a nice sense of humor and even if they point out infractions, they will often supply helpful information in the same post.

XavierP is one of my favourite moderators. So is trickykid. XavierP is more diplomatic while trickykid is a lot more blunt in his replies . Both styles work in LQ! That's why the team here is so great: each moderator has his own distinct style and that helps a lot in such a huge community like LQ.

We don't want bot-like moderators.

To the moderators and Jeremy: Excellent work you all! Keep it up.

"What do you mean - an African or a European swallow?" Ha!! That made me laugh out loud.

Great interview Jeremy -- J.W.
