How do I REMOVE crapware frim my Internet Explorer?

My IE is infested with searchbars and crap. Is there any utility that will kill all the programs that makes it crash. I tried spybot S&D that only kills spyware and stuff... I cant seem to kill all the stuff thats affecting my internet explorer.

Try Spysweeper, or Adaware. At work I run all three tools on each machine as some catch bugs the others miss. SpySweeper can be found at webroot.com and Adaware can be downloaded from download.com

use firefox. For windows it's quite a small download. it blocks popups, etc, and has been reccomended by the "all knowing security types" as better than IE. rmember: IE = Aiyeeee!

<edit> Stupid me forgot to put link so http://www.mozilla.org</edit>

still using Internet Explorer? I suggest Firefox as many others will but if your sister still insist on using it have her go to Microsoft.com and download SP2. I tried it out and it tightens up some of the controls on IE just a bit.

run Spysweeper, spybot sd, adaware, ms regclean, regcleaner, HiJackThis and AVG antivirus. All are free but be careful with the registry cleaners and HiJackThis (it's a registry cleaner but you might miss that)

After that use firefox as much as you can

SpywareBlaster and SpywareGuard are free programs from here that will prevent spyware from loading in the first place. http://www.javacoolsoftware.com/downloads.html
These are 'must-installs' on Windows machines.

As far as anti-virus programs, try this one before you rely on AVG
http://www.avast.com/
Not as well known, but feature-rich and does as good a job as Norton's on any machine I've worked with.

Finally, for registry cleaning, periodically running RegScrubXP from here:
http://www.majorgeeks.com/download.php?det=2048 will make sure the registry stays clean. Personally, I use the freeware versions of RegCleaner and JV16 Power Tools that can still be found here http://www.321download.com/LastFreeware/
RegCleaner has a better uninstaller than XP too.

Run these cleaners on a regular basis and your sister won't be able to fry the machine again.

Oops, one final point I should make: Before you install AVAST, shut down or remove your other anti-virus program so that only AVAST loads at startup - Trying to run two at once can actually prevent your machine from booting. RegCleaner has a great tool to control which programs load at start-up; again much better than XP.
