Have you ever taken advantage of a computer clueless person?
I admit it. I've taken advantage of my own mother's lack of computer knowledge and common sense. Here is my story:
***************************************************************************
My mom was trying to learn how to use a scanner (advanced topic). I installed the scanner and the software and showed her how to use it, A little while later she said she couldn't find the software to run (gee mom, ever think of trying the start bar?). Instead of giving a helpful answer, I told her "It's voice activated mom. You have to say 'activate program' into the monitor for the program to run." She thought I was lying so I said "Whatever. I already told you what you needed to know so I'm leaving." I walked away but still remained in listening distance. A few seconds later I heard my mom say in a super-serious voice "Activate program." My brother and I burst out laughing and fell to the floor, and she was pissed. I think I laughed for 5 minutes straight

Now share your stories of triumph over the technically declined.
Most "technically declined" I know don't appreciate such humor and will never use a computer again... Be gentle and be patient, you'd be surprised how easy people learn things when left alone with just a few instructions.
The only computer clueless person is our house is my husband, by his own choice. I am the mom and the kids showed me some interesting stuff like how to put animee pictures on folders, and how to download mp3s, Shockwave was also very entertaining, disturbing but entertaining. Your mom is probably plotting revenge so I would have your brother taste your food for a while.
I installed a DVD Rom for a guy at a previous place of business... after i installed it he said hec ould not watch a DVD... I said lets go look at it...
we go in his office, i tell him to close the door just in case i look at the computer and a get real close to it... I say hmmm.. i told him to smell it and tell me if he smells smoke. He gets down and he says no i dont smell anything.. I said are you sure? he smells again and then he says yeah.. i think i do smell smoke. I then yelled GET OUT OF HERE... QUICK!!! and run out of his office to the front door... with him running close behind scared to death. he said, "Whats going on is it going to blow up??" I said, No I just needed soem fresh air.
This might sound cliche but I did remove the mouse ball a couple times on people. The first time was my boss who was completely non computer guy and everyone was cracking up but I was not there to see it another time was a guy fixing a computer in our office, I took out the ball and he reinstalled the driver 4 times and checked the cord then finally realized the mouse was kinda light and he was really pissed and I got in trouble but it was worth it.
